Captain's Note
Scarcroft Golf Club is a little piece of paradise, which I am privileged to represent as Captain this year. Its 70-year evolution from mixed farmland to a country parkland golf course has taken patience, planning and perseverance. The original oak saplings are today bold sentinels of the course alongside stands of ash, birch, fir and beech. The fairways are broad and accommodating, the lush greens full of individual character. There are a few ups and downs but nothing your knees can’t cope with! This is not an intimidating course. But it does present a number of worthwhile challenges to serious players of all levels.
Scarcroft guarantees you a traditional Yorkshire welcome from warm, unstuffy, down to earth people united in their love of golf. The clubhouse has a large, well-furnished bar with views and balconies overlooking the 18th green.
There’s an even larger dining and function room managed by excellent catering staff. The well-equipped locker rooms are as well tended as the course itself. As you can imagine, we love it here, and would be very happy to share it with you if you too love your golf and enjoy the company of others.
